CPR Class in progress with Life Savers Association

Life Savers Association, a not-for-profit organization, was established in June 2005 by a group of doctors & philanthropists with an aim to train doctors, interns, medical students, nurses & paramedics and lay persons in techniques of Basic Life Support (BLS) & First Aid.

At the same time its aim was also to teach Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) in a structured manner to doctors, nurses & paramedics so that more & more lives could be saved.

Life Savers Association and its instructors have played a crucial role during the 2010 common wealth games held in India, in training all the doctors, nurses & paramedics involved in providing healthcare to visiting athletes and officials from 71 different countries.

In the year 2011, Life Savers Association became an international training center for American Heart Association & has since been organizing AHA accredited courses across several states in India.

A small group of instructors associated with Life Savers Association had published a book titled “Basic Life Support- An Atlas Based Approach” in the year 2008 & a second edition came in 2012 and its updated edition in 2017. A Hindi edition of the book came out in 2020 & now the third edition is published in 2023. This book has found great popularity amongst health care personnel & also amongst many other non-health care personnel, simply because of the added graphics & consequent ease of understanding. Many instructors are now using this book regularly to impart training in life support courses.

At the present moment, Life Savers Association has around 125 active, AHA instructors across several parts of India & more than 400 registered instructors.

So far, Life Savers Association has trained about 12000 health care providers in AHA accredited courses & about 30000 personnel in other courses. The journey is continuing…..
